Going somewhere special

Hi Lewis.
I, myself are looking forward to see you and your family in July.
I know that there is over six month until you come, but yes I have already made some plans for us. You know I love to be in good time.
We are going to have a long, but interesting day. I have planned something for you, your sister, your mother and your father.
At first we’re going to eat brunch at this restaurant called “Prindsen”. The restaurant is in the city center; so on our way up there, we can see the beautiful shopping street of Roskilde. In front of the restaurant is a statue of a very famous Danish director and author. I know that your mother and sister are very interested in the Danish culture environment. And this lady has written the world-famous TV show “Matador”. Tell your mother to see some episodes of this. I know she’s going to love it. At “Prindsen” they have the best brunch in town, the price is kind of spicy, but it’s totally worth it.

After will I give a guided tour in Roskilde I will show you Roskilde Cathedral. It’s this beautiful church from medieval time. In this church all of our kings and queens are buried. Our current queen, her majesty queen Margrethe II, already have a chapel, where she and her husband prince Henrik are going to lay after their deaths. This church is on UNESCO list of World cultural heritage. It’s an important thing if you want to learn about Danish history.
I will as well show you guys our old city hall, my school and the church where I was confirmed. That church is one of the oldest churches in Denmark and actually the whole world.

I know that you Lewis find churches and city halls boring. But you got to admit: your parents and little sister love these historical things. So after this we are going to Roskilde Festival. We will leave you sister and parents with my parents. You have to buy a one-day ticket. I have a ticket for the whole festival. Roskilde Festival is THE Festival. In this week Roskilde wakes up from its beauty snooze it toke the last year. Every single teenager in Denmark wishes to go to Roskilde. All my friends are coming. We are going to have this amazing day with music, alcohol, dance and fun. You have to hear this band called “When saints go Machine”, they are the best. I know you’re going to love them. I think that we just finds some food on the Festival you can get all types of food.

Lots of love

Amanda
